Planning for the trip took no longer than a few days.  We believe there is a difference between being prepared for a journey, and having a journey arranged.

It was Barend's idea to take a true authentic safari through Kenya. The day before Barend was about to depart, Barry (his son) decided that this experience was too good to miss.  A plane ticket, a yellow fever injection and a backpack was arranged within 3 hours, and we were on our way to Nairobi.

We arrived at Yomo Kenyatta International Airport and took a public bus into town. The first hotel we walked in had a room, and we took it.
