From Lake Nakuru in the north west of Nairobi, we traveled by means of local transport to the south eastern part of Kenya, to the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
This type of transport is not for everyone, it is overcrowded buses on the most intense roads imaginable, but it gave us the perfect opportunity to mingle with the local people.
We had a fantastic time, traveling, hiking, camping and meeting people. Do not pre-book anything in Kenya, as our bus broke, accommodation and travel routes are not necessarily what they seem like on a map. Our advice... go with the flow and enjoy it!
